Tabla
lessons.tabla.subtitle
Tabla is the primary percussion instrument of North Indian classical music and the rhythmic foundation of every Kirtan. Students learn the language of bols (rhythmic syllables), master the major taals (time cycles) — Teentaal, Keherwa, Dadra, Jhaptaal, Rupak — and develop the hand technique that produces the tabla's characteristic resonance.
