Gurmat Sangeet

Gurmat Sangeet is the music of the Sikh tradition as set down in the Guru Granth Sahib. Sixty raags (melodic frameworks) — from Asa to Bilawal, from Dhanashri to Todi — give each hymn its mood and form. Students learn the theory, the practice, and the spiritual orientation of singing or playing within these raags.
Curriculum

- IntermediateIntermediate — three foundational raags (Asa, Dhanashri, Bilawal); textual study of selected shabads.
- AdvancedAdvanced — twelve or more raags; composition and improvisation within raag conventions.
- MasteryMastery — research-level textual and musical study of the Guru Granth Sahib.
